His Splendor

Today was a crazy normal day in the Lockwood household.  Getting up with the Kids and taking care of their every day needs.

( We can look at what we have been given each day in two ways. )

1 – Captivating moments – Looking for the little moments of splendor God grants us each day!

2 –  Mundane & Redundant – seeming that each day is repetitive with no excitement.

Its always a bit crazy for me with getting my day started.  My children seem to always have so many needs that need to be met. Not even giving me time to have a potty break before giving them what they need for their morning start.  I find that when I start my day before rolling out of bed, to just ask God to grant me patience, a filling of gratitude, and for me to show love to my children. Guides my day with a refreshing start.  Now I want you to know that some days,  this does not happen, and my children would tell you the proof of how mommy was having a so called bad day.  But with seeing how much greater my day’s seem to be filled with me asking for God’s guidance, patience, and Love. I have fewer and fewer days with me forgetting to roll out of bed before starting my day off with God first.

(A little about God!)

The amazing thing about God is that he waits.  All day and night He waits!  Have you ever gone to a friends home stood outside and just knocking quietly on the door once, waited their patently for the door to be opened? “NO”  First we all know that patience is not of human nature, secondly we also know that we are not quiet people.  We make ourselves known enough that even if the friend wasn’t expecting us they would know we were their.  That’s one different thing about God.  First He is quiet, and second he is patient.  He never leaves, He always waits…wow! Now imagine you do notice He knocked on the door and you know He is outside waiting for you to let him in.  You decide to just ignore Him hoping that he will leave.  “REALLY? REALLY?”amy poehler  Well sorry to say He isn’t leaving. He is just going to wait. Each day He is here just wanting you to open the door, so you may let him in. Get this, its so you can see your life through moments of splendor instead of moments of the mundane. I don’t know about you but for me I so don’t want the moments of mundane.

Today open your door ask God in, and let him give you the little moments of splendor:  They could be in the smile of your child,  the little glimpse of sun shine. Maybe even in the blooming flowers of spring. Whatever your day, God will always show through if you let Him!

Philippians 4:9 – Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice and the God of peace will be with you.

Challenge for today:  Look for the moment of splendor today, and if you feel like sharing please comment what God blessed you with today!
